Internal Tobacco Company Documents
was established in 1998 when Michael Tacelosky of Tobacco.org posted thousands of "privileged" internal documents from the major cigarette manufactures to a searchable online database.
TDO also hosts research collections based on key topics of investigation including noted youth, advertising, oral tobacco and product design collections, among others.
TDO uses optical character recognition for "full text" searching, and offers an online indexing interface. Researchers worldwide can hand index and abstract documents for research collections. Standard research features include converting documents to PDF files, citations, and profiles. Users may catalog and index key people, organizations, terms, ingredients and other tobacco terms within collections.
